Mandatory Requirements
The applicant must be able to deliver all deliverables and documentation to the highest standards.
Appropriate and recognised formal qualifications and / or comparable experience in the configuration and build of SAP solutions.
Minimum of 10 – 15 years’ experience working as a SAP Plant Maintenance Functional Consultant and Architect, with an in-depth understanding of the integration of the SAP Plant Maintenance module to other SAP modules, the GIS spatial environments and external bespoke systems.
Responsibilities The main function would be to assume responsibility as the Senior SAP Plant Maintenance contractor for the Transport and Urban Development Authority as part of the Transport Authority Management System programme and to be overall responsible for the successful delivery and implementation of the end-to-end Asset Life Cycle Management processes.
Department IS&T – Transport for Cape Town.
Rate VAT: The rate per hour should indicate the amount excluding VAT as well as including VAT.
Maximum Total Fee Payable Total remuneration – to align with total budget for this post based on an average of 20 working days per month, 8 working hours per day.
Compensation of overtime will require prior approval and agreement.
Project Environment Transport and Urban Development Authority Working Environment:
The Transport and Urban Development Authority of the City of Cape Town, has embarked on a programme to implement an Integrated Information Management System (IIMS) to overcome the following key business challenges:
• A new business strategy that needs to be implemented with the establishment of an Authority;
• The need to align the people to the new business strategy;
• The need to reengineer current business processes to that of an Authority and to implement new business processes as required; and
• The need to integrate systems and technology and to have one central database for master data.

The position forms part of the Transport Authority Management System Programme team responsible for delivering the Integrated Information Management System.
One of the first deliverables of the Programme was to implement an asset management foundation solution. The new asset management foundation solution has been implemented and the business is enabled in a phased-out implementation approach. The project will be closed by the 31st of January 2018.
Brief overview of job functions Successful applicant will be required to do the following:
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery and implementation of the end-to-end Asset Life Cycle Management processes.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for knowledge transfer to other Transport and Urban Development Authority and Information Systems & Technology employees.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the alignment of the end-to-end Asset Life Cycle Management processes to the Transport and Urban Development Authority-Wide Architectural Blueprint.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating business requirements workshops and for translating the requirements into functional specifications that will be used to build the solution.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the integration of the SAP Plant Maintenance module to other SAP modules, the GIS spatial environments and external bespoke systems.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the design of the Business Intelligence component, including operational, tactical, strategical and dashboard reporting.

Qualifications or Experience • Appropriate and recognised formal Business or Information Systems qualification.

• In-depth understanding of the integration of the SAP Plant Maintenance module to other SAP modules, the GIS spatial environments and external bespoke systems.
• In-depth understanding of reporting capability in Business Intelligence.
• In-depth understanding of Asset Life Cycle Management.
• SAP Certification is recommended.
• Previous experience in Local Government or within an Authority would be beneficial.

Flexi-time Core hours are from 08:30 to 16:00; other working hours are available only upon written confirmation.
